2. Eligibility & Account Registration
2.1 Who May Use DailyWorkman
To register and use DailyWorkman, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Be a resident of Nigeria or legally authorised to enter into contracts in Nigeria.
- Provide true, accurate, complete, and current information during registration.
- Not have had a previous Account suspended or terminated by the Company for misconduct.
- Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract under Nigerian law.
2.2 Account Registration
When you register, you agree to:
- Provide your real full name, a valid email address, and accurate contact details.
- Create a strong password and keep it confidential. You are solely responsible for all activity under your Account.
- Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your Account.
- Not share your login credentials with any other person.
- Not create more than one Account per role without express written permission.
2.3 Email Verification
Where Email Verification is enabled, you must verify your email address before accessing Platform features. Unverified accounts have limited or no access.
2.4 Accurate Information
3. User Roles — Clients & Professionals
3.1 Client Role
As a Client, you may: search for and view Professional profiles; send messages and Quotation Requests; post Jobs and Projects; place Orders by paying into Escrow; save and bookmark Professionals; and leave reviews after completed Orders.
3.2 Professional Role
As a Professional (once your profile is active), you may: create a detailed profile with skills, experience, and portfolio; create and list Gigs; receive and respond to Quotation Requests; bid on Client-posted Projects; receive, manage, and fulfil Orders; receive payments into your Earnings Wallet; and request withdrawals to your bank account.
3.3 Role Switching
Where Role Switching is enabled, a Professional may switch to Client Mode to hire other Professionals. Switching does not create a separate Account and your Professional profile remains active in the background.
4. Professional Onboarding & Verification (KYC)
4.1 Onboarding Fee
To activate a Professional profile and appear in search results, every Professional must pay a one-time Onboarding Fee (displayed on the payment page at registration). By paying this fee, you understand:
- The Onboarding Fee is non-refundable once your profile setup has begun.
- Payment does not guarantee a minimum level of orders or income.
- The fee enables your profile to be published — it does not constitute employment by FridayTechnologies.
4.2 KYC Identity Verification
Professionals must complete identity verification before their profile is published. Depending on Company settings, this may include:
| Step | What Is Collected | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| BVN Verification | 11-digit Bank Verification Number | Identity confirmation tied to the banking system |
| NIN Verification | 11-digit National ID Number | Government identity confirmation |
| Government ID Upload | Photo of National ID, Passport, Driver's Licence, or Voter's Card | Document-based identity verification |
| Liveness / Selfie Check | Live camera capture or selfie photo | Confirm the person matches the uploaded ID |
4.3 Profile Approval
After KYC, your profile is reviewed by the Company. We reserve the right to approve, request additional documents, or reject your profile. Rejected profiles may be resubmitted after addressing the stated reason. Profile approval is not guaranteed.
4.4 Accuracy of Professional Information
You warrant that all information in your Professional profile — skills, certifications, years of experience, and portfolio images — is truthful and accurately represents your qualifications. Misrepresentation is a material breach of these Terms and grounds for immediate termination.
5. Services Offered on the Platform
5.1 Nature of the Platform
5.2 Service Categories
The Platform supports professionals across construction and trade categories including: Engineering, Carpentry, Electrical, Plumbing, Masonry, Painting, Roofing, Welding, HVAC, and Site Labour. Categories may be added or removed at any time.
5.3 Platform Availability
We aim to keep DailyWorkman available 24/7 but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Platform may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, upgrades, or circumstances beyond our control. We are not liable for any loss arising from Platform downtime.
6. Payments, Escrow & Fees
6.1 All Payments Through the Platform
6.2 How Escrow Works
- Client and Professional agree on scope and price (via Gig, Quotation, or Bid).
- Client pays the agreed amount plus the Service Fee into the Platform's Escrow.
- Funds are held securely — the Professional cannot access them yet.
- The Professional performs the agreed service.
- Upon satisfactory completion, the Client confirms — Escrow releases payment to the Professional's Earnings Wallet.
- If the Client does not confirm or raise a dispute within 7 days of delivery being marked, funds may be released automatically.
- The Professional can then request withdrawal to their bank account.
6.3 Service Fee
A Service Fee (platform commission) is charged on each Order. The current rate is displayed on the payment page before you confirm. The fee is deducted from the Order amount before the net payment is credited to the Professional's Wallet and is non-refundable once the Order is placed, except in cases of platform error.
6.4 Payment Gateways
Payments are processed through Paystack and/or Flutterwave, subject to their respective terms. DailyWorkman does not store your card details — these are handled securely by the payment gateway.
6.5 Refunds
Refunds from Escrow may be issued when: the Professional cancels or fails to commence an Order; the Company determines a refund is warranted following a dispute; or a technical error caused a duplicate charge. Refunds are processed to the original payment method within 5–10 business days.
7. Withdrawals & Earnings
7.1 Earnings Wallet
When an Order is complete and Escrow is released, the net payment (Order amount minus Service Fee) is credited to the Professional's Earnings Wallet. The Earnings Wallet is not a bank deposit and does not earn interest.
7.2 Withdrawal Requests
Professionals may withdraw their Earnings Wallet balance to a verified Nigerian bank account. You must have a verified bank account linked to your profile and a balance that meets the minimum withdrawal threshold (displayed on the withdrawal page).
7.3 Processing Time
Withdrawal requests are reviewed and processed within 1–5 business days. The Company is not responsible for delays caused by your bank's processing times.
7.4 Taxes on Earnings
You are solely responsible for declaring and paying all applicable taxes on income earned through DailyWorkman, including PAYE or any other tax obligations under Nigerian law. The Company does not withhold tax on behalf of Professionals and does not provide tax advice.
8. Orders, Gigs & Project Bidding
8.1 Gigs
By listing a Gig, the Professional agrees to provide the service exactly as described, deliver within the stated timeframe, and not misrepresent the scope to inflate Order value. The Company may remove any Gig that violates these Terms.
8.2 Projects & Bidding
By submitting a Bid, the Professional confirms the price and delivery estimate are genuine and achievable, and that if awarded, they are committed to performing the work at the stated price. By posting a Project, the Client confirms the description is accurate and agrees to fund Escrow promptly after awarding a Bid.
8.3 Order Obligations — Professional
Once an Order is created (Escrow funded), the Professional must: commence work within the agreed timeframe; communicate proactively if delays arise; perform the service to a professional standard; not demand additional payment beyond the agreed amount without prior written Client approval; and not abandon the Order without just cause.
8.4 Order Obligations — Client
Once an Order is created, the Client must: provide the Professional with all necessary access and information; be available to review and confirm completion; not unreasonably withhold confirmation where service has been satisfactorily delivered; and raise any genuine dispute through the Platform's dispute mechanism — not by withholding Escrow indefinitely.
8.5 Auto-Release of Escrow
If the Client does not confirm or raise a formal dispute within 7 calendar days of the Professional marking an Order as delivered, the Company may release the Escrow funds to the Professional automatically.
9. Quotations & Chat Messaging
9.1 Quotation Requests
A Quotation Request is an inquiry — not a binding Order. An Order is only created when the Client accepts a Quotation and funds Escrow.
9.2 Chat Messaging Rules
By using the chat feature, you agree to:
- Use chat solely for legitimate, professional communication related to services on the Platform.
- Not share your phone number, personal email, WhatsApp, or any direct contact details in chat. This is prohibited — see Section 12.
- Not use chat to harass, threaten, or abuse another user.
- Not use chat to arrange off-platform payments.
9.3 Message Monitoring & Keyword Restriction
The Platform automatically scans chat messages for restricted keywords (including phone number and email patterns). Flagged messages may be hidden from the conversation and reviewed by the Company. By using chat, you consent to this monitoring for platform safety and policy enforcement.
10. Reviews & Ratings
10.1 Leaving Reviews
By submitting a review, you confirm it is based on your genuine first-hand experience, is truthful and not misleading, was not incentivised, and does not contain defamatory or offensive content.
10.2 Review Moderation
The Company moderates reviews before publication. We reserve the right to reject or remove reviews that are fraudulent, false, defamatory, or in violation of these Terms. Approved reviews are maintained permanently on the Professional's profile.
10.3 Review Manipulation
Attempting to manipulate the review system — including posting fake reviews, incentivising positive reviews, or organising campaigns to damage a competitor's rating — is a serious violation and may result in immediate Account termination.
11. Prohibited Conduct & Acceptable Use
11.1 General Prohibitions
You must NOT use DailyWorkman to:
- Violate any applicable Nigerian law or regulation.
- Impersonate any person or falsely claim qualifications you do not hold.
- Harass, threaten, defame, or abuse any other user.
- Post spam, unsolicited advertising, or chain messages.
- Upload content that is pornographic, violent, hateful, or offensive.
- Hack, disrupt, or compromise the Platform's systems, servers, or databases.
- Use automated bots or scrapers to extract data from the Platform.
- Engage in any fraudulent activity, including fake accounts, fake reviews, or fraudulent Orders.
- Use the Platform for money laundering, financing of terrorism, or any other financial crime.
- Post content that infringes the intellectual property rights of any third party.
- Attempt to access another user's Account or data without authorisation.
11.2 Professional-Specific Prohibitions
- Misrepresenting your skills, experience, certifications, or portfolio images.
- Accepting payment for a service you have no intention of delivering.
- Abandoning an Order after Escrow has been funded without just cause.
11.3 Client-Specific Prohibitions
- Placing an Order with no genuine intention of receiving the service.
- Unreasonably refusing to confirm Order completion to delay payment.
- Making false dispute claims to obtain a refund for services genuinely rendered.
- Abusing the review system to damage a Professional's reputation unfairly.
12. Off-Platform Transactions — Strictly Prohibited
12.1 Why This Rule Exists
- Off-platform payments remove Escrow protection — Clients have no recourse if work is not done.
- Professionals risk non-payment with no platform remedy.
- It undermines the safety and integrity of the marketplace.
- It deprives the Company of its legitimate Service Fee that funds platform operations.
12.2 Consequences
If the Company determines that a User has engaged in an off-platform transaction: both the Client and Professional involved may be permanently suspended; pending Escrow or Earnings Wallet balances may be forfeited; and the Company reserves the right to pursue legal action to recover lost Service Fees.
12.3 Reporting
If another user asks you to pay or receive payment outside the Platform, report it via the Contact page immediately.
13. Intellectual Property
13.1 Company's IP
All content, design, code, trademarks, logos, and materials on the DailyWorkman Platform — including the DailyWorkman name and logo — are the exclusive intellectual property of FridayTechnologies. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any Platform content without our prior written permission.
13.2 Your Content
You retain ownership of content you post. By posting content, you grant DailyWorkman a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, display, and promote that content on the Platform and in marketing materials for the purpose of operating the Platform.
13.3 Content Standards
All content you post must: be your own original work or content you have the right to post; not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights; not be false, misleading, or offensive. The Company may remove any non-compliant content at any time without notice.
14. Privacy & Data Protection
14.1 Privacy Policy
Your use of DailyWorkman is subject to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. It explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and your rights under the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) 2019.
14.2 Data You Provide
By registering, you consent to collection and processing of your personal data including: name, email, phone number, location, BVN/NIN (Professionals), government ID, selfie, and bank account details, as described in the Privacy Policy.
14.3 BVN / NIN Data
14.4 Location Data
The Platform may request access to your GPS location to enable proximity-based search. You may decline location access, but this will limit the Platform's search functionality.
15. Account Suspension & Termination
15.1 Termination by You
You may close your Account at any time via the Delete Account page. You must have no active Orders or pending disputes before deletion. Any Earnings Wallet balance must be withdrawn before deletion or handled per the Company's inactive account policy.
15.2 Suspension or Termination by the Company
The Company may suspend or permanently terminate your Account, with or without prior notice, if you: violate any provision of these Terms; provide false or fraudulent information; engage in off-platform transactions; commit fraud or misconduct on the Platform; receive repeated complaints indicating a pattern of poor service; or remain inactive for more than 12 consecutive months.
15.3 Effect of Termination
- Your access to the Platform is immediately revoked.
- Active Orders will be handled at the Company's discretion, including potential refund from Escrow.
- Verified outstanding Earnings Wallet balances may be paid out within 30 days, minus any amounts owed or subject to dispute.
- Sections 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 17, and 20 of these Terms survive Account termination.
16. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
16.1 No Warranty
DailyWorkman is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by Nigerian law, FridayTechnologies expressly disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
16.2 No Liability for Professional Services
FridayTechnologies is NOT liable for any damage, injury, loss, or dissatisfaction arising from services provided by Professionals — including property damage during construction work, personal injury, substandard workmanship, delays, or failure to complete agreed work. Your contract for services is with the Professional, not with FridayTechnologies.
16.3 Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, FridayTechnologies' total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the total Service Fees paid by you to the Platform in the three (3) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
16.4 No Liability for User Content
FridayTechnologies is not liable for content posted by users, including false profiles, fraudulent Gig listings, or defamatory reviews. We moderate content as a best-efforts measure but cannot guarantee the accuracy of all user-generated content.
17. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless FridayTechnologies, its directors, officers, employees, agents, and partners from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: your use of the Platform in violation of these Terms; any content you post; any service you provide or receive; any dispute between you and another User; or your violation of any applicable Nigerian law or third-party rights.
18. Dispute Resolution Between Users
18.1 Raising a Dispute
- Attempt to resolve the matter directly via the Platform's chat within 48 hours of the issue arising.
- If unresolved, submit a formal dispute via the Contact page within 7 days of the triggering event with all relevant evidence.
- The Company will review evidence from both Parties and recommend a resolution within 10 business days.
18.2 Company's Role in Disputes
The Company acts as a neutral facilitator — not a court. We review evidence and may recommend full release of Escrow, partial refund, or full refund to the Client. Our determination is final within the Platform.
18.3 Chargebacks
18.4 Dispute Time Limits
Disputes must be raised within 14 calendar days of an Order being marked complete or the triggering event. Disputes raised after this window may not be eligible for Escrow intervention.
18.5 Legal Disputes
Any legal dispute between a User and the Company that cannot be resolved through good-faith negotiation shall be submitted to arbitration in Nigeria under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, Cap A18, LFN 2004. The seat of arbitration shall be Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Proceedings shall be conducted in English.
19. Amendments to These Terms
FridayTechnologies may update these Terms at any time. When changes are made, we will: update the Effective Date at the top of this page; notify registered users via email and/or in-app notification; and for material changes, provide at least 14 days' notice before the new Terms take effect. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes your acceptance.
20. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, including:
- The Nigerian Labour Act (Cap L1, LFN 2004)
- The Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) 2019
- The Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023
- The Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, Etc.) Act 2015
- The Consumer Protection Framework of the FCCPC
- The Arbitration and Conciliation Act, Cap A18, LFN 2004
Subject to the arbitration clause in Section 18.5, both Parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Nigerian courts.
